Paper walks the ramp

In today’s world using different materials for fashion purpose has become very essential. There is a big demand, for new and unique explorations and ideations. And the fashion industry has always been successfully satisfying them for a very long time. Contributing to this demand, an art group from Saint Petersburg created paper sculptures in a very unique way taking inspiration from baroque wigs and fashion. The artists Asya and Dmitriy Kozin’s intricate work has spread to headpieces, masks, and wedding dresses. These paperworks has been appreciated by fashion designers, art collectors and paper enthusiasts.

Their designs  are always complemented by complexity and uniqueness. The  deep dive in historical culture helps the artists to work more and more until they reach their satisfactory design. The art group has made white paper as its signature medium of expression with a reason to express historical process in a symbolic fashion. The material refers to Mongolian, African, Scythian,Venetian, Baroque, Art nouveau movements and the colour white sets the contemporary take towards them.

The artist and founder Asya is very comfortable using paper as a material. Every work is crafted by hand, giving every work a unique touch without being repeated. Kozin’s Art group has reached a certain success height from where they can be seen as a part of the fashion houses Dolce Gabbana’s  runway show with their Baroque wigs. The characters in wigs are taken from folk myths which includes various marine monsters. The paper fashion crafted by hand is well recognized as symbols in certain events related to historical art and fashion and even as collections of museums, and still continues to fix a very good position in the industry.
