We all very well know the importance of ink, its power to change anything and everything. Sadly, the value of writing is alive, due to the contribution of writers. But, what about the basic and most eminent part? That is, the way of writing- the handwriting. Calligraphy is the term given to the art of beautiful handwriting. Hence it is, a very essential part of writing, but do you remember any name of a calligrapher, whom the world admires?

Most probably, you won’t be able to mention any. Because, that’s the truth. The secret stars, behind these phenomenal handwriting ,are not known to many. Because it’s a rare and less focused profession. People take this profession very lightly, but it’s not an easy task at all. Breaking these stereotypical impressions and not worrying about what the world would say, there are some super passionate people like Nicholas Ouchenir, who decided to live for his passion.
Fifteen years ago, he started to convert his passion to reality ,by experimenting with his calligraphy skills. He became his own teacher and critic. Gradually he started achieving the results and so created his own style of writing alphabets, both traditional and modern.
Presently he is a well known calligrapher in Paris. He has been working with big brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Christian Dior, Cartier and many more. Every fashion week invitation is written by him.

He accepts the fact that he never thought of making his living out of this profession. But the love for writing made his way to success. Earlier as a kid, he loved to write and then started graffiting in the streets of Paris which later turned to writing invitations for art gallery.
For him writing has its own personality, he has been working for fashion magazines, art exhibitions, car makers, tattoos and many more. For him it’s an art to convey the essence of the brand, which he does very well and so very much in demand. He captures the personality of the brand through his style of writing and is very much satisfied from the work he does. His hard work always paid him back, he says it’s beneficial for him now that the work he does is rare, because exclusivity is something which is admired by everyone like Haute Couture. He takes good care of his right hand, which is of great value now.

Doing hand exercises ensures a very good quality from him. Collaborating with different designers and inventing new writing styles is what excites him. His strength stays in his originality, as he never tries to copy and creates his own style of writing, which he continues doing and loves it. These artists, who listen to their inner voice create a very different space for them and add great value to the fashion industry. Hope to see more and more people like this, for whom their work is what they love to do.
