Photography embracing Art

Photographs are the most impactful form of art because of its visual content. Prior to photography, realistic images were captured only by skilled artists. And so art, has always been the best way to express, every strong expression. The emotions of an artist is clearly visible from his art work.

Art has always expressed its emotions beautifully to the person willing to admire it. The colour of every art contains different imotions of sorrow, anger, hatred or love.

After the invention of photography the bond of art and photographer was created very slowly as both had the potential to capture the reality.

The bond of art and photographer has been  recreated again. As recently, for his latest calendar, photographer G Venket with some South Indian Film Industry’s most loved women   changed art into reality. One of the most eminent artists of India, Raja Ravi Verma’s muses were replaced by these women and were photographed. The project brought art and photography together in such a unique way.

The women who featured in this calendar were Shruti Hassan, Samantha Akkineni a Telugu and tamil actor, Baahubali star Ramya Krishnan, Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar, actor-producer Lakshmi Manchu, Tamil star Aishwarya Rajesh, Malayalam star Nadhiya, Bharatnatyam dancers Shibhna and Priyadarshini Govind, and former Malayali actor Lissy Lakshmi, who actually refreshed the memory of the art.

The fine details and fresh blend of new faces with Raja Ravi Verma’s captivating backdrop brought life to the artwork. The accessories and garments were handpicked to match the original painting and was successful in doing so.

The launch of these portraits took place in The Folly, Amethyst in Chennai, as a part of an initiative benefiting the NAAM charitable Trust. The main aim was to empower underprivileged single women and their children. And this is how we can even use art in photography to elevate others life too.
