Speck – Splash – Splatter

An artsy fashion sense that has been flooding the ramps and filling the wardrobe of people at least once every decade. “Along with many other 80s fashion trends that are making a big comeback, paint splatter prints have re-entered the world of fashion” – clichéd tag that keeps hitting our ears. Some designers are going minimal with the splatter and just doing speck on the clean designs and some have decided to go rouge with paint splatter. Many of these designs are being perceived as anti-fashion statements but also have gained much more acceptance by the Designers, distributers and people too. From haute couture to ready to wear collections – Speck – Splash – Splattered paint prints with most vibrant of colors are fascinating the mob. Color spotted Jeans are one thing, too many brush-strokes on  denim jackets are also gaining popularity in high fashion. Then paint splatters on shoes, Hand bags, sportswear and even on belts. Even accessories are splashed with colors. Adding some crudeness to those boring clothes is also a way to make the wardrobe exciting. While we wouldn’t necessarily recommend taking a brush and some acrylics to your most treasured designer-name pieces just yet, why not see how the trend fares on items you were already planning to remove from your rotation?

Zara and Armani prive have thrown some colors from a distance while some have decided to carefully adding strokes to the designs to make them look flawless yet raw. Arty patterns have seen themselves make their way into our homewear too, with marble wallpapers, watercolour jugs and pretty makeup bags.
