Louis Vuitton has always been a brand who has preferred to work with art. The brand knows the significance of art and graphics, and how refreshing it can be to the audience always as a new change.
Louis Vuitton started this collaboration work a long time ago, when they started the street smart graffiti collaboration with New York designer and artist Stephen Sprouse in 2001. This was the start of art entering the world of Louis Vuitton, which grabbed a very heavy seat in the house of Louis Vuitton.
In 1985, designer and artist late Stephen Sprouse added neon graffiti monogram to the bags which gave a very vibrant vibe to the products. It gave a rebellious touch adding more excitement to the brand. Later in 2008 graffiti leopard print accessories were released after Sprouse’s death in 2004. In 2013 , model Edie Campbell walked the ramp giving tribute to Sprouse in black sparkling Sprouse body paint. Creating a very strong memorable moment for the house.

The brand collaborated with contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, which proved to have the most iconic products of the early 00s. The white multicolor Monogram accessories were a classic especially when appeared on the arms of celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan in the movie Mean Girls. Murakami further added Cerises, Cherry Blossom, Monogramouflage and character print bags are still displayed in stores globally.
The art world anti -hero Richard Prince inspired the brand and so collaborated with him. SS08 runway show, was walked by twelve models dressed as nurses, each with a letter on their hats to spell ‘Louis Vuitton’. The show was inspired by the artists’s most famous Nurse paintings, which very well captured the art into real life.

Many more collaborations with artists like Yayoi Kusama, who popularised the Japanese legend’s Dotty artwork on handbags, clothes and accessories. Then Cindy Sherman, The Chapman Brothers etc. The brand still continues to exhibit its products in a very unique way through at and different methods to be the center of attraction always and has proved to be always successful in doing so.
