Alexander Mcqueen, he treated himself as an artist who performed his art through designing clothes and executing them. Mcqueen always had a very different perspective for designing. He always wanted to represent the darker side of society, through his extraordinary ideation. His best way to express his emotions has always been artistic. The harsh and tough life, with its raw reality was always the preference theme. Mcqueen maybe listed as a noted Haute Couture fashion designer but he always treated himself as an artist. His art inspiration was mainly from nature. All the motifs and prints were very well extracted from the world he was surrounded with.

Mcqueen’s collection always had that art in it which showcased a certain theme.
The art base of Mcqueen definitely tells us that to collaborate with this brand can only be possible with an artist, who would be the best suited option.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Mcqueen’s iconic skull scarf, the brand collaborated with artist Damien Hirst. The designs were exclusively available with only 30 limited editions. The designs were even celebrated in a short film by photographer solve Sundsbo.

The iconic skull scarf was first displayed in SS03 Irere collection. Each design was adapted from Hirst’s Entomology series.
The artwork was originally inspired by Dante’s Inferno. The series of this collection included exclusive designs of butterflies, spiders, and different insects formed through a kaleidoscopic geometric shapes creating the signature Mcqueen skull motif.
The designer and artist played with symmetrical design in a great influence from the natural world, as being Mcqueen’s own style.
These art and fashion collaboration has always made the brands have a more renovated and stronger approach.
